CHEM Technical Standards

Over the years CHEM has produced a number of standards for waste equipment which have been accepted throughout the industry. CHEM standards have set down dimensional information for the correct matching of various types of waste container to the equipment required to handle them. Click on Literature for more information.

There are currently sixteen CHEM Technical Standards available dealing, in the main, with the issues of dimensional interfacing of various types of container with the equipment supplied by CHEM members.

The full list of titles and a summary of each CHEM Technical standards is given below:

  • TS 1 Stationary compactor rating criteria. Issue 2. 9  Pages. Provides definitions of basic elements of the compactor, calculation of charge box volume, cycle time and volume dislpacement. It also includes general manufacturing requirements and dimensional information for attachment to compactor containers.
  • TS 210 cu.m. compacted waste container for lift off vehicle. Issue 1. 4 Pages. Gives a general view of a compacted waste container for use with skip loaders. It contains dimensional information for the container as well as for attachment to a static compactor.
